At Tier 1 Interiors we believe that safety is one of the crucial aspects for a business in construction. The most important thing is that our employees make it home safe at the end of each day.

Safety at Tier 1 is overseen by our co-owner Tammy, an experienced health and safety advisor. Qualified with a Level 6 NZ Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety in the Workplace and Safety Systems (OHSMS), she has worked in safety at several companies, and is a member in the Canterbury Safety Charter, prioritising health and safety in every workplace.

We are SiteWise assessed!

The health and safety of our staff is a priority here at Tier 1 - we want to make sure everyone gets home happy and well at the end of the day. Both physical and mental health are valued here.

The trades have unique risks. The percentage of tradies that reported experiencing the following are shown below:

Our health and safety considerations extend beyond just the physical. One of our focuses is on building our Tier 1 community so that everyone feels supported and enjoys what they do. We are a team where everyone should feel confident around each other.

Construction accounts for 15% of work-related serious injuries and fatalities. A unique and personalised approach is needed.

We take the risks of the construction industry seriously. Our co-owner Tammy helps provide guidance and training for us to make sure everyone feels safe. We have regular toolbox talks, follow up-to-date WorkSafe NZ regulations, and make an ongoing effort to improve safety practices.
